by Marvin on Jan.09, 2012, under Columbia River, Sturgeon
Here is a quick Sturgeon fishing report for the Bonneville pool. fishing was fair to good this weekend; there were more Sturgeon caught closer to Hood River. I only heard of a few Sturgeon caught down by the Cascade Locks area. While I did put my boat in at Cascade locks, I would head up the Columbia River about 8 or 10 miles. Most Sturgeon were caught in deep water, about 80 feet or better. Water temperatures were about 40 degrees.

How to Catch Giant Sturgeon on the Columbia River
by Marvin on Jan.26, 2010, under General, Sturgeon
Here is how Marvin’s Guide Service fishes for Giant Sturgeon on the Columbia River. Fishing starts in May for the great white Sturgeon. I fish on the Columbia River below Bonneville Dam,on the dead line which is a few miles down river from the fishery.
I like to fish in about 50 feet of water, the river is moving fast this time of year so be extra careful, have plenty of rope out.
