Salmon fishing Columbia River is looking very good this upcoming season.

Oregon and Washinton fish mangers are expecting a large run of spring chinook salmon to the Columbia River and its tributaries in 2023.  Mangers are giving predicting 307,800 hatchery and wild salmon to return to the Columbia River. Sure, has me excited.

Thats a big upgrade from last year spring salmon run that was expected to be 197,000 to the Columbia River.

Last year actually the spring salmon run came in at 274,495.

If perditions are correct this will be the biggest return of spring salmon entering the Columbia River since 2015. I’m excited. This could mean excellent Columbia River salmon fishing.

In my opinion spring salmon is by far the best eating fish the Columbia River has to offer. Spring salmon average 10 to 20 pounds.

My season to start spring salmon fishing trips is middle of March.

I offer spring salmon fishing in the Portland Oregon area we will be fishing around the Portland airport to start the season.

Middle of April I turn my attention to the lower Willamette River for spring salmon.

I will continue to salmon fish on the Willamette River through June.

When you fish with Marvin’s Guide Service you will be fishing in the comfort of a 29-foot covered and heated boat.

Call me today and talk to me about my combo fishing trips.

Combo is a half day salmon, and half day sturgeon.
