It was a quick season on the Willamette River for Sturgeon but for the most part, a very successful one.
I do expect the Willamette River to stay good for Catch and release Sturgeon for the next few months. If you are looking to keep a Sturgeon I would fish around the mouth of the Willamette River or if it was a nice day with little wind I would head up the Columbia River and fish around Roster Rock.
Myself I am going to Start Salmon fishing on the Columbia River around Davis Bar.
With fish and wildlife saying that the Willamette River is going to have a very strong run of Spring salmon this year, Davis Bar which is just down River a little way’s from the Mouth of the Willamette River is a great place to start trolling.
The Daily bag limit on the Columbia River is 1 hatchery Chinook Salmon. Please Handle all wild salmon with care and keep them in the water, and release them quickly. Sounds like the Columbia River will close April 4th for Salmon fishing.
On the Willamette river the The daily bag limit downstream of Willamette Falls will be two adult adipose fin-clipped Salmon. Fishing is allowed 7 day’s a week on the Willamette River..
