Willamette River Salmon fishing has still been good in the harbor area, both bait and spinners are catching Chinook Salmon.
With the high water you just need to clean your line of a little more often to make sure your bait or lure is working good.

Willamette River in the Oregon city area has been great for Chinook Salmon fishing, just prepare for big crowds here.

Willamette River Sturgeon fishing has been hot hot in the harbor. Remember the Willamette River is catch and release for Sturgeon. Squid has been the hot bait for Sturgeon fishing on the Willamette.

Yesterday 5-24-11 we did a catch and release Sturgeon fishing trip on the Willamette river and we ended up with 10 Sturgeon between 40 and 55 inches, and 2 Sturgeon over 6 foot long, Great day of fishing.

Columbia River is very high, but you still can find some good Salmon fishing out there around the Troutdale area was producing some Chinook Salmon yesterday.

Shad are starting to show up,I have been hearing some reports of shad caught in the gorge at the shad rack.
Use extreme caution if you anchor up at the Shad rack, as the Columbia River is flowing very hard and fast.

Fresh Shad is a good bet for Sturgeon bait.

Sturgeon fishing in 2011

First of all I would like to tell everybody Happy New Year!

Now it’s time to talk about winter sturgeon fishing!
Above Bonneville Dam is open 7 days a week for Sturgeon, this is a very good time to put some Sturgeon in your freezer!
I don’t expect the season to last until February So call and get your day booked. Don’t worry, if we cant make it up the gorge because of bad weather, we can find plenty of Sturgeon on the Columbia River by the airport.

February the Willamette River will open for Sturgeon, you may keep Sturgeon Thursday Friday and Saturdays only on the Willamette River.This Too will be a short season. Call now and get your Willamette River Sturgeon fishing trip booked.

Don’t worry about the cold, we will as always be fishing out of a covered and heated boat.

Beginners luck for publisher

So, what a day. For the first time In thirty-five years I went salmon fishing. At Buoy 10. I caught two beautiful Cohos, about 12 pounds each. That’s no fish story, I’ve got the pictures to prove it. Marvin gave us superb service and guaranteed we’d catch salmon today, and we did.
What more can you hope for from a fishing guide.
Tonight when my wife and I are eating the sublime salmon, I’ll be thinking of my Dad, my family and my new friend Marvin and counting my blessings.
Call it beginners luck, but it was splendid.
It sure “sucked to be me” today.

feeling the spray in my face, smelling the salt air brought back childhood memories of fishing with my Dad, wwho passed away a few years ago. An emotionally soaked experience this was, but it was as “all good.”

Buoy 10 salmon fishing

One of the best areas to troll is near buoy 10, which is at the mouth of the Columbia River as all the fish have to come past this to get upriver on the incoming tide.
I fish this in mid August.
we are going to alowed 3 coho this year. If you want good action for salmon then give me a call or come on down .

Good Day Sturgeon fishing on the Columbia River

Today I arrived at the boat ramp awaiting my customers to arrive.They did at 6:30 am.

We headed down the Columbia river, Where I anchored up what as the flats.I was in about 62 ft of water.

After 4 or 5 small Sturgeon We hooked my first Oversized of the season. My clients faught it for about an hour it was a little over 8 foot.

It sure was a suprise for For them when they got it too the boat.

As the day went on we caught 4 or 5 small sturgeon And one keeper Sturgeon at 47 inches long.

Not a bad day for 2 people in the boat.
