The forcast is calling for lots of rain over the weekend, with this I expect the fish to come in to the bay.I just hope we don’t get too much rain.

On average I have been getting 12 to 15 nice sized crab a day. For bait I use Chicken.
Good luck out there and be safe.

Buoy 10 which is on the mouth of the Columbia River opened August 1st for Salmon fishing.
Fish and wildlife are saying we are going to have a great Salmon season this August and September on the Columbia River.
Predictions are 600,000 + Chinook Salmon, and 385,000 + Coho Salmon.
Don’t miss out on this great Action on the Columbia River.

The fist place to get in the Action is in Astoria Oregon on the lower Columbia River, I fish salmon in this area throughout August.
I will fish from the Astoria bridge down river to Buoy 10.

Then in September I will be fishing in the Portland Oregon area, there are some really great places to fish, start out right in font of the Portland Airport, fish on the Oregon side of the River, then about mid September I move up the Columbia River about 25 miles just below the Dam.

Were ever you salmon fish this year it is going to be great.

I wish you all good luck and I will see you on the River soon.

Summer salmon on the Columbia River is now open. This just might be one of my favorite times of the year to fish. You can go out and do a half day of Salmon fishing and a half day of Sturgeon fishing.

I will be fishing the Columbia River Gorge for summer salmon. One place to fish for Summer Salmon is at the shad rack just up river from the fishery, I will anchor up there in about 15 feet of water, and put out spinners, I like to use a # 5 blade this time of year.

Columbia River is running fast right now, so be exta carefull when you anchor your boat, watch out for debris in the water that might hit your boat or get caught on your fishing lines.

You may keep 2 fin cliped salmon. I look forward to a great summer salmon season on the Columbia River.

See you all out there.

On the Columbia River, reports of anglers hooking spring Chinook are now coming in almost daily. The bite is expected to pick up in the coming weeks as spring Chinook begin to return to the Columbia in increasing numbers.
A potential record return of 559,900 spring Chinook has allowed state Fish and Wildlife to provide anglers with a wide range of fishing in the Columbia River during March and April.

If the run of highly prized and tasty spring Chinook, the come back as predicted would be the largest return since at least 1938.

Last year, 222,000 spring Chinook returned to the Columbia River.

Be sure to give Marvin’s Guide Service a call, and get hooked up with a Spring Chinook Salmon.
