Boat captains who have had a Person fall overboard say it is much harder to make a rescue then they had thought.

Here are a few general rules I would do to recover somebody in the water.

First stay calm.

Second, throw a lifesaving device alongside them, Not at them.

Sturgeon fishing above Bonneville Dam

January 1 the Columbia River above Bonneville Dam will open for Sturgeon fishing. We will able to fish all seven days of the week,until the quota of Sturgeon are caught! I expect great fishing in this area so don’t expect the season to last long.

Registered Oregon Fishing Guide

There are a lot of fishing guides in Oregon. There are several who claim to be guides, however,they are not registered with the Marine board, just a word of caution. Know who your guides are!

Before you book your next fishing trip make sure your guide is registered, and they have met all the necessary state registration requirements.

Winter fishing in Oregon`

Are you looking for something to do this winter? How about Sturgeon fishing? Don’t let the weather scare you off, Marvin’s Guide Service has a covered and heated boat.
Where do we fish? There are a number of places to fish. One place I like to fish is down by St Helens Oregon, in front of Pixie Park. This is a great place for winter Sturgeon. Just be careful were you Anchor because that is also the main channel of the river.

Salmon And Crab Fishing Tillamook Bay Oregon

Fall is here, so time for fishing and crab fishing in Tillamook Bay. Tillamook Bay is on the Oregon coast about 2 hours from Portland, Oregon.

King Salmon in Tillamook Bay can get up to 50 pounds with the average salmon being about 25 pounds.

If you want to fish in the Portland Oregon area in June or July we have some great sturgeon fishing and Steelhead fishing. Sturgeon up to 10 feet or bigger. Steelhead range from 5 to 20 pounds.

Astoria Buoy 10 Salmon Fishing

We will be fishing for King Salmon and Coho Salmon on the Columbia River. Experts say it will be another great run of fall Salmon up the Columbia River.
