sweet-jump2Sturgeon fishing on the Columbia river in Oregon was a blast on Friday.
I had for clients fishing on my boat on the Columbia river.
we started out fishing for steelhead but fishing was slow so we went down the Columbia river about 5 miles or so to Horsetail falls and stared to fish for sturgeon.

We caught a few Shakers witch are small sturgeon and even caught a few Sturgeon just a inch short.
Just as it was time to go home we got a bite this time it was big and do I mean big.
45 minutes or so wen by before we got this big sturgeon to the boat.
This Sturgeon was a great fight all the way to the end.
hope you all enjoy the picture of the great jump.
Thank you Chris for the great pictures.

Whoa, is all I can say. This would have to have been the number one highlight of our trip to Oregon. I’ve been coming out here since I was just a baby and man oh man. Marvin knows his stuff. Catching that whopper of a fish was one of the coolest things i’ve ever done. I will definately be coming back during the big fish season with a buddy or two and see what they think of these monsters. Living in North Dakota we don’t see anything close to this size of a fish. A little joke we had on the boat while horsing in this big fish was..

The sea was angry that day…

These big sturgeon Kick ass. Run after run it went through three of us before we got it to the boat.I fish a lot and have never come up against anything with the power and size of this thing we were using big gear and could keep the pressure on this fish but it ripped line off the reel like butter too many times to count it was the size of a small Donkey. Had a great time thanks Marvin I think you Got us all Hooked to come back for the monsters in june.
