3 Sturgeon on the Columbia river Saturday

by Marvin on Apr.26, 2009, under Columbia River, Fishing Guide, General, Salmon, Sandy River, Sturgeon, Walleye, Willamette

Today I had 3 people fishing for sturgeon on the Columbia river!

None of these guys ever fished for sturgeon before
.
We left the dock at Troutdale and went up the Columbia river to Roster Rock
.
I put are line out, with smelt and sand shrimp.

After we caught 3 or 4 small sturgeon we got are first keeper, it was 47 inch long.
Afte that the bite went off.
So I went down the Columbia river
And fished under the power lines by the sandy River.

I was in 52 foot of water. and the first sturgeon we caught was 47 and a half. almost a twin to the first one.

We caught about 10 more small sturgeon the we got are last keeper.
44 inch!
not a bad day at all on the Columbia river.
